WIFE SLASHER
PLEADS GUILTY
Bronx District Attorney Robert
T. Johnson today announced that Ivor Forbes, 35, of
2199 Holland Avenue, has pleaded guilty to Manslaughter
in the first degree in connection with the death of
his wife, Keisha Denton, on December 7, 2003. On that
date, Forbes slashed Denton numerous times with a
sword in their first floor apartment. She was then
34 years old. Forbes was originally charged with murder
in the second degree. Under the terms of the plea,
he will serve 18 ½ years in prison. The plea
was accepted in the light of all of the circumstances
of the case, including the defendant’s psychiatric
reports.
The case is being prosecuted by Senior Trial Assistant
District Attorney Bruce Birns of the Domestic Violence
Bureau. The plea was taken by the Hon. John Carter.
Sentencing is scheduled for September 12, 2006 in
Part DV.
