SIXTEEN YEAR OLD BRONX YOUTH INDICTED FOR MURDER IN SHOOTING DEATH OF HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL STAR
Bronx District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced today the indictment of a sixteen year old youth for allegedly shooting to death a high school football star in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.
The grand jury indicted Quindell Francis on one count of Murder in the 2nd degree, one count of Manslaughter in the 1st degree and one count of Criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree. If convicted on the murder charge, Francis would be facing a maximum sentence of 25 years to life imprisonment.
Francis, of 2774 Dewey Avenue, allegedly shot and killed Fernando Correa, 16, on February 1, 2005, behind a building at 352 Brinsmade Avenue.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine Scaccia, Director of the Gang Prosecution Unit.
