BRONX MAN IS CONVICTED FOR KILLING A HOMELESS MAN
Bronx District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced today that a 43 year-old Bronx man has been convicted on manslaughter charges in the stomping death of a homeless man in May 2000.
Eddie Hunter, of 3150 Bailey Avenue, was convicted of Reckless Manslaughter in the 2nd degree in the kicking death of Ordon Mirolsaw, 42. Hunter is facing a maximum term of up to 15 years imprisonment when he appears before Acting State Supreme Court Justice William Mogulescu for sentencing on Friday, June 21, 2002 in Part M30.
The fatal incident occurred on the afternoon of May 11, 2000 in the Albany Crescent Park, at 233rd Street and Bailey Avenue as the defendant and another man argued. Miroslaw was attacked when he intervened. Hunter punched Miroslaw until he fell and then kicked him repeatedly in the head and body. The medical examiner ruled Mirolsaw’s death to be the result of blunt impact trauma and fractures of the skull.
Assistant District Attorney Edward Starishevsky prosecuted this case.
