SEVEN ARRESTED AT A HOUSE OF PROSTITUTION
Bronx District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced today that a month long investigation by the District Attorney’s Detective Investigators Unit, in collaboration with the New York City Police Department, has led to the arrest of four women on charges of prostitution and three men on charges of promoting prostitution.
Lucia Ambrosio, 28, of 963 Broadway, Brooklyn, Nancy Hernandez, 33, of Elizabeth NJ, Luisa Martinez, 38, of 1417 Grand Concourse, and Wanda Nevarez, 29, of 2450 Marion Avenue, have each been charged with Prostitution, a class "B" misdemeanor offense. Co-defendants Carlos Gomez, 22, of 1775 Monroe Avenue, Jorge Morales, 51, of 217 Park Avenue, Garden City, Julio Rosario, 45, 190 West 170th Street have been charged with Promoting Prostitution in the 2nd degree, a class "C" felony offense punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment.
An undercover investigation revealed that a house of prostitution was being run at 2386 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, 2nd Floor. It is alleged that the operation consisted of Gomez screening men as they entered and Morales acting as the look out for police. Rosario allegedly collected the money and supplied customers with an admission ticket. Customers would then enter the apartment and select one of the four female defendants with whom they would engage in sexual intercourse.
Mr. Johnson thanked the Officer’s of 46th Precinct for their assistance in building a case. In addition, Mr. Johnson acknowledged the hard work of Deputy Chief Detective Investigator Frank Chiara, Lieutenant Nicholas Ranieri, and Detective Investigator Rocco A. Galasso.
